Every pixel in a photograph carries data. The Pictometric series turns that data into design — taking the colors of the travel poster and turning them into a proportional graphic unique to that place.
On the front: the Cinque Terre Pictometric — a visual fingerprint built from the warm rose, ochre, and sea-green of the Cinque Terre village facades stacked on the cliffs, the deep Ligurian blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea below, and the pale haze of the Italian coastal light. On the sleeve: the GPS coordinates of Cinque Terre, marking the spot where the photograph behind this poster was taken. That original photograph is also available separately as a fine art print.
