A New Way to See a Place
Every pixel in a photograph carries data. The Pictometric series turns that data into design — taking the colors of the travel poster and turning them into a proportional graphic unique to that place.
On the front: the New Zealand Pictometric — a visual fingerprint built from the deep turquoise of Lake Tekapo against the golden tan of the surrounding tussock grass, the dark green-grey of the mountains beyond, and the thin green and gold accent lines along the lakeshore. On the back: the full Lake Tekapo vintage travel poster from The Postcards Collection — Lake Tekapo, New Zealand — Where Mountains Meet Mirror Lakes.
On the sleeve: the coordinates of Lake Tekapo — 44.00336° S, 170.48242° E — marking the spot where the photograph behind this poster was taken. That original photograph is also available separately as a fine art print.
Inside the neck: a custom Lake Tekapo postage stamp, the quiet detail that ties every piece in The Postcards Collection back to the place that inspired it.
