Lunar Descent – Signed Limited Edition Print + Certificate

Price range: $525.00 through $3,300.00

I waited out the moonrise for this one, watching it drop back toward the ridgeline.

Released in three independently numbered formats: 10 archival paper prints, 5 float-framed metal prints, and a single acrylic face-mount. Every piece is signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity naming its format and number. Paper is Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm, a 100% cotton archival stock with a smooth matte finish; the framed metal is a 24 × 36 print set in a solid-wood float frame chosen to suit the image; the acrylic is a 36 × 48 face-mount on DiBond. When a format sells out, it is not reprinted.

What makes it a limited edition — paper, numbering, the certificate, and why the acrylic is always one of one.

Description

Lunar Descent presents the moon rising from darkness into a column of luminous color and light. Suspended against a deep black sky, the lunar surface becomes the anchor for a vertical cascade of soft blues, violets, and warm tones that stretch upward through the frame.

The image balances precision and abstraction. The detailed texture of the moon contrasts with the flowing bands of color above it, creating a composition that feels both grounded and ethereal. The upward movement of light suggests motion and quiet energy, while the surrounding darkness emphasizes the calm stillness of the night sky.

In this photograph, the familiar shape of the moon becomes something more symbolic—a point of origin from which light appears to rise. The minimal composition allows the viewer to focus on the relationship between the moon and the vertical streaks of color, transforming a simple celestial subject into a contemplative visual study of light and space.

Printed as a museum-quality archival photograph, Lunar Descent offers a striking piece of celestial wall art for collectors drawn to the quiet beauty of the night sky. The bold simplicity of the composition makes it particularly well suited for modern interiors where a single, luminous subject can command attention.
