Every pixel in a photograph carries data. The Pictometric series turns that data into design — taking the colors of the travel poster and turning them into a proportional graphic unique to that place.
On the front: the San Francisco Pictometric — a visual fingerprint built from the iconic international orange of the Golden Gate towers, the soft grey-white of the fog bank rolling through, and the deep Pacific blue of the bay below. On the sleeve: the coordinates of the Golden Gate Bridge — 37.81985° N, 122.47862° W — marking the spot where the photograph behind this poster was taken. That original photograph is also available separately as a fine art print.
Inside the neck: a custom San Francisco postage stamp, the quiet detail that ties every piece in The Postcards Collection back to the place that inspired it.
