Every pixel in a photograph carries data. The Pictometric series turns that data into design — taking the colors of the travel poster and turning them into a proportional graphic unique to that place.
On the front: the North Carolina Pictometric — a visual fingerprint built from the deep navy-teal of the Atlantic against the warm gold of the Cape Lookout lighthouse beam, the olive green of the maritime forest, and a thin gold accent line tracing the shoreline. On the sleeve: the coordinates of Cape Lookout — 34.62321° N, 76.52480° W — marking the spot where the photograph behind this poster was taken. That original photograph is also available separately as a fine art print.
