Description
A New Way to See a Place
Every pixel in a photograph carries data. The Pictometric series turns that data into design — analyzing the color and tone distribution of the Japan destination image and rendering it as a proportional graphic unique to that place.
On the front: the Japan Pictometric — a visual fingerprint built from the deep vermilion red of the torii gate pillars and crossbeams, the dark mossy green of the forest floor and surrounding cedar trees, and the pale stone grey of the pathway leading toward the mountain summit. On the back: the full Fushimi Inari Torii Gates vintage travel poster from The Postcards Collection — Fushimi Inari, Japan — The Corridor of a Thousand Wishes.
No two destinations produce the same Pictometric. This one is Japan.
